The traveler on the plain sees from afar the distant range of mountains. Then he loses sight of them again. His way winds slowly upwards through the valleys, drawing ever nearer to the peaks, until at last, at a turn of the path, they stand before him, not in the shapes which they had seemed to take from the distant plain, but in their actual forms.

Gunsbach is a small, lovely village in the Alsatian Munster valley, 20 minutes from Colmar.
The house which Albert Schweitzer constructed in 1928/29 is now used to house the museum and the archives.
We have more than 5000 visitors a year. Would you join these number?
Opening hours:
Tuesday till Saturday 9 am - 11.30 am and 2 pm - 4.30 pm
(Good Friday till Easter Monday and Christmas eve till mid January clossed)

Wechsel in der Leitung des Albert-Schweitzer-Hauses
Damien Mougin verliess die Direktion des Albert-Schweitzer-Hauses in Günsbach auf den 1. April 2011. Interimistisch wird die Stelle durch Christoph Wyss und Walter Schriber übernommen. Dabei werden sie durch das kompetente, langjährige Personal unterstütz.
