The Albert Schweitzer House is pleased to welcome Matthieu Arnold, professor of history at the Faculty of Protestant Theology at the University of Strasbourg and correspondent for the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres, for a lecture entitled: “Albert Schweitzer, known and unknown” on September 18 at 6:30 p.m.
Using examples from his recent biography, Matthieu Arnold will demonstrate the importance of returning to the sources, starting with those in the central archives in Gunsbach, in order to enrich and nuance the “lives” of Schweitzer that are commonly known.
