Wall clock

Telling the story of another era

Suspended in time, this wall clock looks down on you in the music room of the Maison Schweitzer and tells you about another era;

It served the Schweitzer family at the Ancien Presbytère until it was requisitioned by a German headquarters during the First World War. It was then bombed, which silenced its mechanism and left scars when all the rest of the surrounding furniture was destroyed. Kept by Albert, it will eventually find its place in his new home among the family heirlooms.

A most discreet yet talkative witness for the eye that can stop for a moment and give it the illusion of once again fulfilling its function, that of measuring time.
